About Internet Marketing Mentor

My name is Diane Corriette and I am a mother of 3 gorgeous children living in London, England.

My aim in putting together this membership is NOT to "frighten" you into believing you need to spend as much as I did in order to succeed, or to make you believe that you can not succeed without a mentor because you can with the right mindset.

What I want to do is highlight just how much more effective you become when you take on a mentor and - when you select the right one - how much quicker you will profit online.

I want you to know that I am writing about something I personally and professional understand.

Professional Qualifications

I left school at 16 and went straight into an office job as a secretary. I stayed there for 15 years until 10 years ago when I decided to re-train and break out of the J.O.B.

I re-trained and became a teacher of adult education, then a trainer running training courses for small not-for-profit organisations that helped them to grow before going on to learn coaching.

Below are some of the professional qualifications I have attained :

  • Diploma In Management (including fund raising, running a not for profit organization & financial management)
  • City & Guilds (C&G) Stage I and II in Adult Learning & Continuing Education
  • British School Of Yoga Diploma in health & personal development
  • Practitioner of Appreciative Inquiry
  • Practitioner of Action Learning Sets
  • Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming
  • Certified Professional Life Coach

I discovered the joys of the internet in October 2005 after a major back injury meant my coaching and facilitation business could not run because I was the main focus of it.

Being a solo-preneur meant if I wasn't there to bring in the work and deliver on the contracts I had won I was not paid.

My back injury meant I was out of work for 6 months and the insurance company refused to payout.

I knew then I never wanted to be in that position again and began to learn about multiple streams of income. My focus settled on two methods, real estate and running an internet based business.

Within my first 3 months of being online I focused totally on the wrong things and quickly realized that I needed the help of a mentor so that I could learn more about this new industry I found myself in.

In January 2006 I took on my first mentor $8,000 for 6 months (January – July 2006). This program was one of the reasons I learnt so much about internet marketing so quickly but it was promoted as something a complete beginner could use and it definitely wasn't.

I found at the end of the 6 months that I had been left with a number of questions I could get no answers to and no real focus about what I wanted to achieve.

My "unfocused" behaviour lasted for another 4 months before I stopped and re-focused. By then I had maxed out two credit cards!

My second mentor (June 06 – ongoing) was less of a one to one situation and more about self directed learning (or learning by doing), meaning I didn't have access to a person I spoke to individually but learnt from the material they provided (and there was LOTS!), the membership site online, seminars (with free access), their online support system and motivation.

The cost of this mentoring system was a little over $3,000 and continues to be a source of inspiration and support nearly two years later (with no additional costs).

My third big investment (Sept 06 – December 07) was with a well known internet marketing expert who opened up his expertise and brought in loads of other experts on weekly group calls.
This was more of a coaching program than a mentoring one and the cost was a little under $4,000.

This expert was VERY generous with his products and seminars with members of his coaching group and we had access to added extras over a 12 month period.

What was great about being part of this program was the fact that it involved people around the world with a large UK intake and I was able to connect with other marketers in the UK for the first time (until then everyone I connected to lived in the USA).

I learnt a lot through the weekly calls that I had easy access to and even though the decision was made not to continue after December 2007 it will always be one of the best investments that I made.

In the same month (September 2006) and at the same event I also paid to be mentored by another well known marketing in the area of Adsense at a cost of $997. I still have access to this group but have done very little with it, which of course is totally my responsibility.

Of these two programs the adsense one I booked on to learn about how to use it but the coaching program I booked on because of the internet marketing expert running it and the opportunities it provided to meet people looking to succeed online. Of course the learning helped too.

In September 2007 I took on a mentor for a very specific area. I wanted to learn Adwords. The cost was a little over $1,500 for 4 teleseminars and access to a forum.

When I originally booked on I thought I was gaining one to one time with this expert and kicked myself (many times!)  for not keeping the original email, but it turned out to be teleseminars (and the calls were pre-recorded!)

If we were stuck we asked a question in the forum that this expert would answer. Not great value for money but it did the job, which was to teach me how to use adwords and it is now down to me to ensure I continue to learn.

That's a total of over $17,000 worth of mentoring between January 2006 – December 2007 and does not include the DVDs, products, books, and other information I invested in all within the same period.

After reading that I hope you can see that I am writing here about something I have direct personal experience with but also that I am professionally qualified and experienced to deliver.

Every mentor will provide you with something different so it's important YOU know what you want to achieve before choosing one.

While this handbook will focus on mentoring I will also focus on the difference between coaching and mentoring.
I wish you the best of luck with your online business and I hope it brings you happiness, freedom, flexibility and financial abundance.
